The Children's Research Centre has been at the heart of paediatric research in Ireland and internationally for over four decades. Founded in 1965, it was the first dedicated research centre on the site of an Irish hospital. It provides well equipped laboratory facilities for the investigation of the biological basis of childhood disease.
The quality of research carried out at the Centre is best recognised by its international reputation in paediatric medicine and in its publications. We support only research that conforms to the highest international standards, having undergone rigorous peer reviewed approval. This track record and research activity, present and planned, has established the reputation of the Centre internationally and serves as a magnet in attracting key staff members.
As evidence of its broad view of Irish Paediatrics, the Children's Research Centre has agreed partnership arrangements with UCD, TCD and RCSI and is actively involved in research activity on other hospital sites and internationally, as well as in the Children's Research Centre.
